Highfield Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)
Course Overview
Highfield Awarding Organisation
Accidental injuries are the most common cause of death in children over one year of age and can result in permanent disability and disfigurement. Because most accidents are preventable, knowing what to do if an accident occurs can save a life.
The national standards for first aid in childcare settings state that ‘at least one person who has a current paediatric first-aid certificate must be on the premises at all times when children are present’. In addition, at least one person with a current paediatric first aid certificate must accompany every outing.
Who should complete the course?
Paediatric First Aid is for those people working in nurseries, schools and childcare settings, but of course it will also be useful for anyone who has responsibility for caring for infants or children.
