Highfield Awarding Organisation
As with any accredited qualification it is good practice to refresh your knowledge and understanding in any area. However, it is a requirement to do this for first aid every 3 years.
Who should complete the course?
This course is designed for any person currently holding the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work and who wants to continue being a First Aider in the workplace. It also meets any Continuing Professional Development requirements (CPD).
The aim of this course is to refresh the delegates’ knowledge and skills to be able to continue in the role of a First Aider in the workplace.
By the end of the course, the delegates will have the skills to:
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of the first aider
- Assess an incident
- Recognise signs and symptoms of injury and illness
- Use CPR
- Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Assist a casualty who is suffering from major injury or illness such as chest injuries, spinal injuries or anaphylaxis
Practical observation – The practical assessment is completed throughout the course delivery. This ongoing assessment will involve delegates demonstrating practical first aid skills, in addition to Oral questioning – Delegates must provide a short response to set questions and complete a multiple-choice question paper.Enquire Now
